How to choose outdoor marijuana seeds?
The first thing to consider when choosing outdoor marijuana seeds is to determine the pros and cons of your chosen location. In a previous post we discussed how to grow marijuana outdoors. Some varieties are more or less conducive and sensitive to certain weather conditions and so we will assist you in choosing accordingly.
Usually all varieties of cannabis prefer to be planted, not potted. When planting on land, one should always take anti-theft measures. It still remains the best way to obtain a bountiful harvest and water requirements are also lower than when planting in pots.
Another factor to bear in mind when choosing the seeds will be the height one wants the plants to achieve. If one cultivates mostly sativa seeds, it is likely to become very high although there are pruning techniques to mitigate this. In this case pots are useful and recommended.
High yielding outdoor marijuana seeds
The most important thing to get a good yield is to find the sunniest spot with good access to water. In this case, the choice of seed is simple because all the varieties in our catalog are perfectly adapted to these conditions and the only remaining factor is the prevailing weather conditions the end of summer. It is difficult to predict in advance but depending on the region in which one grows one should have a rough idea. If it is in a humid climate, avoid varieties with very dense buds or that have a long bloom to avoid rot on the flowers.
We present the 5 varieties of marijuana from our catalog that is grown outdoors the most in order:
- Fruity Jack / Jack El Frutero: If this variety is provided with plenty of sunshine and nutrients, it will give a very high yield. It is resistant to mold, so it is ideal for rather humid areas. We recommend pruning some lower branches so that the buds of the upper branches are larger.
- Marijuana Sweet Love: Its yield is almost as high as the Fruity Jack and crop characteristics are quite similar except for its lower nutrient requirements. We do not recommend any pruning because the buds are usually the same throughout the plant.
- Easy Haze / K-13 Haze: This variety needs suplementary potassium and phosphorus ( flowering fertilizer ) mid-grow, so that it’s buds fatten further. It is very resistant to mold and pests. We recommend pruning some lower branches so flowering takes place in the center to top.
- Marihuana Black Bomb: It has a shorter flowering period than the previous strains but is more sensitive to rot due to the large size and density of its buds. We do not recommend any pruning.
- Orange Candy / Naranchup: It is a mildew and pest resistant ,fast flowering variety. It gives a very high yield if some pruning of the main stem is done before flowering but it is not recommended to prune the lower parts.
To develop properly and to its full potential, marijuana plants need a minimum of 5/6 hours of direct sunlight and good quality soil and water. Whether planted or potted, we recommend using specific or specialy prepared soil mixes for marijuana.
