Philosopher Seeds arrives in Canada

Recently, at Philosopher Seeds, we have had two wonderful news regarding Canada. On one hand, we have confirmed that Philosopher Seeds will be present at the next Lift Cannabis Expo in Toronto. We can’t wait to meet any grower, breeder or professional of the sector interested in our cannabis varieties. You can find us with our friends from 420 Canada at their awesome booth.

We are very happy to visit Canada, where people have been struggling for marijuana legalization for decades. Doubtless, Canada has a long history as leader of the marijuana industry, with renowned activists, seed banks and breeders, extract artists, etc. We are convinced that we’ll learn plenty of things about all aspects of plant, from varieties and growing systems to legality and policies. For us, it is a great opportunity to meet worldwide specialists on this subject and share experience and knowledge.

Needless to say, we are also very pleased and excited to see that our varieties have crossed the Atlantic Ocean and reached the Canadian market, since we know that most of our hybrids, and especially our awarded automatic strains, will delight most canadian growers.

Feminized strains like Easy Haze / K13 Haze or Philo Skunk / Gokunk will be ready to harvest by late September outdoors, while the Early Maroc is ready by mid August, a true champion for outdoor crops!

Fruity Jack / Jack el Frutero and Spicy CBD / SuperJuani often show high CBD contents, thus being suitable for medicinal purposes.

All our varieties are adapted to indoor growing with the only exception of Early Maroc, which we only recommend for outdoor crops. It is one of the earliest plants we've ever seen and it is also mold resistant, an ideal choice for outdoor growers. The hashish of the Early Maroc reminds of the best moroccan hash, with spicy and sweet notes.

Among our automatic varieties, and if we had to highlight one of them, it'd probably be the Cheesy Auto, awarded Best Automatic Strain at 2015 Expogrow Irun, one of the most important fairs in Spain (and Europe). White Yoda Auto reached 21% THC at 2014 Spannabis.

The Lift Cannabis Expo will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (Toronto) on May 28-29, 2016. Do not miss it!

Canadian patients win the right to grow their own pot

The second new with regard to Canada is the decision of Judge Michael Phelan, who has struck the ban on medical marijuana patients to grow their own pot. He has also given the government six months to develop new regulations regarding medical cannabis.

Still, recreational users will have to keep on fighting for their right to grow and use marijuana, since this decision only includes medical patients, who can now continue growing their own pot at home.

Plaintiffs were co-represented by lawyer John Conroy, who stated that this ruling will be only applied to the approximately 28.000 Canadian users who already had the proper licenses at the time of the injunction. Thus, the rest of medical users will have to wait six months to grow their own pot. He also stated that this injunction needs further fine-tuning. "Hopefully within six months we'll have a reasonably regulated system in place that solves the problems for everyone", he said.

In this way, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the justice minister have now six months to develop a proper regulation system for medical marijuana in Canada as response to the court’s ruling.

Lawyer Kirk Tousaw - co-counsel for Neil Allard, who launched the court challenge – believes that this injunction could represent the logical previous step for also regulating the recreational use of cannabis on a near future.

We are glad that all medical marijuana patients from Canada are on track to reach their goal and we hope we can see more and more examples like this.

Another victory for the cannabis community!

I have been trying to order some seeds ( easy haze) almost all day, your website is very poorly written and designed and has many many flaws, just to name a few, when you click on english it works for about 2 seconds then goes back to Italian and when you try to pay with a credit card it says it timed out, what a useless site, I cannot believe in this day and age that you cannot find someone to make your site work correctly , if you paid this individual or company you wasted your money you should ask for it back. I want to buy these seeds I need at least 5 , 10 would be better,, I see they are on sale, even better.. can someone contact me and take my information, I did register on your site but there again , a huge fault , will not let me back in with even with a new password, must have done by a guy named Fiat (fix it again tony).
