Landraces, or native genetics, are plants that develop naturally in different regions of the world and have not been crossed with other genetics. In other words, "pure" varieties that reproduce only among themselves over many generations. This purity makes it possible to obtain stable plants that develop homogeneous characteristics between the different cultivated individuals.
In most cases, Landrace varieties are named after their region of origin, such as Hindu Kush (Indica) or Acapulco Gold (Sativa). Usually these native plants are either 100% Sativa or 100% Indica.
Landraces: the foundation of all seed bank catalogues
Compared to the hybrids cultivated by most growers, landrace plants offer different flavours and very particular effects. Landrace plants are great genetics to use in breeding projects to create new hybrids and bring about new cannabis discoveries.
These genetics were consumed 50 years ago before the first hybrids were developed and put on the market.
We also incorporate in the Landrace range the crosses between two pure varieties.
