Genetics
Red Hot Cookies is the encounter between Tropicanna Cookies and Tangie, in an extensive selection of the most reddish phenotypes.
Tangie brings the Sativa dominance, with large secondary branches and an exceptional load of tangerine flavoured terpenes. It is a quite fast flowering plant, ready to harvest in just about 8 weeks after the photoperiod change.
The other parental, Tropicanna Cookies, is an Indica plant that offers a large yield of dense and fleshy flowers. It presents two very marked phenotypes, one green and one purple.
Red Hot Cookies is a plant with a Sativa tendency, both in structure and in its effects. It is a very vigorous plant that develops large secondary branches full of buds.
Red Hot Cookies cultivation
Growing Red Hot Cookies is very rewarding if cultivated under optimal conditions and techniques. The plant has a pronounced Sativa structure with central and secondary branches very vigorous. The production is more concentrated in a large main branch, although the strong secondary branches also provide an important part of the production.
The most remarkable and distinctive point is that about 60% of individuals produce reddish coloured flowers towards the end of flowering.
Indoor cultivation is quite entertaining, with techniques such as SCROG, mainlining and LST to enhance its structure and production. It also adapts well to SOG thanks to its ability to develop large main colas. The harvest is ready in about 8 weeks, and under optimal growing conditions can offer a yield of up to 500-600g per m2.
Outdoor cultivation is a great advantage thanks to the sunlight, much more powerful than any artificial light. The secondary ramification is more vigorous and increases the bud production, particularly in the upper branches. Pruning and topping is recommended in order to increase yields.
